Single Session Therapy (SST)

can be useful as prevention.
Single Session Therapy (SST) is a form of therapy that aims to help the client in one session, knowing that further help is available if needed. It is based on the idea that many problems can be solved or improved in a short time with a focused and collaborative approach. SST may be useful for clients who have specific concerns, who prefer a brief intervention, or who have limited access to regular therapy. Motivation to change is highest at the first therapy session, after which it gradually decreases.

Some of the benefits of SST are that it can reduce waiting time, increase customer satisfaction and promote self-esteem. SST is not a specific model of therapy, but rather a way of thinking about and practicing therapy that can be applied to different approaches.

Single session SST therapy can be useful as prevention. Just as we go to the dentist once a year, or have blood tests once a year, a therapy session a year would also be useful as a preventive measure, not to wait until the problem or condition becomes critical, but to prevent the appearance or worsening them.
